Self-Care Sunday

While I was scrolling through social media over the weekend, I came across a friend’s post that said “You can’t pour from an empty cup.” Ahhhhh, this right here touched my heart. Not only because it’s true, it has applied to my life. Through my years of living and loving (whether it be romantic or platonic), I realize you have to take time to re-energize and not feel guilty about it! A person cannot operate on a half-tank and operate well. As women, we wear so many hats: mom, wife/partner, friend, sister, co-worker, boss, entrepreneur, cook, nurse, teacher, counselor, referee, etc. the list goes on and on….

We need to be able to balance and prioritize. Questions I’ve asked myself lately include: What’s important today, this week, and/or this month? Do I have the emotional/mental capacity to deal with everything I have going on? What do I need to do to fill my tank?

My question to you is, why should self-care only be on Sunday? What about the other six days of the week?

How do you re-energize and replenish yourself? What I’ve been doing lately is not being in a rush on the weekends. I take my time doing things, whether it’s being somewhere or doing something. I like having hobbies with my hands, watching DIY furniture videos on YouTube, and watching reality TV.

Tell me what do you do on “Self-Care Sunday” or do you practice self-care daily. As always, I would love to know what you think. Read, relax, respond. Until then…

Officially Yours,

Miquel

As a women, We have a tendency to take care of everything and everyone except ourselves. Stepping back and learning to inhale and exhale. Reconnecting inwardly is vital for self care.

Exactly! I’m learning to do that very thing, “step back”. Thank you for your comment.
